Get to know and feel the history of the First World War in the places where the legendary Christmas battles took place a hundred years ago. The branch of the Latvian War Museum “Christmas Battle Museum” is located in the house of “Mangaļu” in Valgunde Parish, Jelgava Region.
Unique elements of the First World War field fortifications related to the legendary Christmas battles have been preserved on the territory of the museum. In the open-air exhibition of the Museum of Christmas Battles, a stage of the fortification system – an armory and a part of the first line of German defense – the “German rampart”, which is the only object of its kind in the Baltics, is reconstructed in an authentic place.
