Mentioned in chronicles for the first time in 1237. For several centuries the castle belonged to the Korff family. Now it houses Jēkabpils History Museum, a Soviet Army room, medieval cellars with groin vaults. The tower of the castle is frequently used for exhibitions. There is an audio guide available in Latvian, Russian, English, and German, as well as themed excursions and activities.
